Green Chemistry towards Sustainability
Department of Chemistry, Chulalongkorn University
Our research group focuses on the synthesis and characterization of sustainable biopolymers, electrospun nanofibers, and nanocomposites. We aim to develop eco-friendly materials for packaging, textile-related chemicals, and environmental remediation.
Research Focus
Bio-nanocomposites for Biomimetics and Biomedical Applications
We develop biomimetic bionanocomposites through green chemistry and 3D bioprinting to create functional scaffolds for advanced tissue engineering and regenerative medicine
Circular Materials & Green Composites
Our research engineers sustainable bio-polymers and compostable green fibers/films using industrial-scale processing to eliminate plastic waste and reduce the carbon footprint of the textile industry and commodity products.
Advanced Functional Nanomaterials for Environment and Energy
We synthesize biomass-derived functional nanomaterials for electrochemical energy conversion, hydrogen production, and carbon capture to drive the global transition toward carbon neutrality
Nano-Enabled Sustainable Agriculture with Biomass-Derived Soil Conditioners
This theme focuses on creating nano-enabled soil conditioners from agricultural biomass waste to enhance water retention and ensure global food security in the face of climate-driven drought.
Lignocellulosic Valuation for Social & Industrial Impact
We transform lignocellulosic residues into high-value industrial precursors through green chemistry to empower local communities and foster the development of circular bio-businesses.
Latest Highlights
Invited Talk at 2026 MRS Spring Meeting & Exhibit, Hawaii, USA. Symposium: ‘Broader Impacts: Collaborative Infrastructure in Materials Science for Global Challenges’
● Showcase innovative strategies and case studies that illustrate how collaborative infrastructure, networks, and partnerships can drive scientific progress beyond the capacity of individual researchers or research groups. ● Inspire new pathways for collaboration and resource-sharing that will empower the materials science community to address global challenges. ● Share strategies and successful implementation for large-scale, adaptable infrastructure and shared facilities and how they play a pivotal role in overcoming these global challenges. ● Detail multilateral and international partnerships are critical for harnessing the full potential of materials science in addressing urgent global needs. ● To achieve these goals, this symposium will have an innovative format comprised of presentations and panel discussions ● Impact of this symposium will extend beyond the conference as we aim to summarize the symposium information into a collaborative special issue or feature article within an MRS journal where all participants would be included as co-authors.
